Ayili Kharaba was a village in the territory of the Echmiadzin uezd of the former Iravan governorate, later in the former Ashtarak district, and present-day Aragatsotn province.
The village was inhabited by 100 Azerbaijanis in 1914 and 201 Azerbaijanis in 1916. The Azerbaijanis were exposed to aggression by Armenian armed formations and deported from their historical and ethnic lands in 1918. At present, the village lies in ruins.
The toponym was coined by adding the identifying suffix “–li” to the word “ayi” meaning “a bear” and “kharaba” meaning “destroyed, ruined” in Azerbaijani.
