Ashaghi Gazbin was a village in the Echmiadzin uezd of the former Iravan governorate, later in the former Talin district, and present-day Aragatsotn province.
Being coined by combining the words “ashaghi” expressing a distinctive feature, “gaz” meaning “the bottom of the gorge”, “a lap between hills, a ravine” and “bina” meaning “a settlement, a village, a nomads camp, a stop, a place where animals are kept” in Azerbaijani, the toponym denotes “a settlement in the ravine”.
The village was abolished in 1926.
