Ashaghi Aghkorpu was a village in the territory of the Zangezur uezd of the former Yelizavetpol (Ganja) governorate, later in the former Garakilsa (Sisian) district, and present-day Syunik province. It was marked on the five-verst map of the Caucasus. It was located at 95 km distance from the village of Garakilsa. At present, the village lies in ruins.
The toponym was coined by combining the words “ashaghi” denoting a distinctive feature, “agh” meaning “white” and “korpu” meaning “a bridge”.
