“According to what my father said, during the massacres of 1918, Armenians captured Shahabli village of Vedi district. Abbasgulu bey Shadlinski ordered the residents to gather in Chimen village to fight against the Armenians. The distance between Shahabli and Chimen villages was 4-5 km. When Azerbaijanis gathered in the village of Chiman, the news came that the people of of Shahabli had been massacred. Abbasgulu bey Shadlinski gathered young people and formed 3 groups. In addition, during the Armenian attacks, the village of Gadirli was also destroyed and the villagers were massacred.”
