“I was born in Shidli village of Vedi district in 1961. In 1988, the population of the district was subjected to terrible sufferings, they were forced to move out of their houses. Deportees first gathered on the banks of the Aras river. In particular, the residents of Shirazli village suffered more because they were in the center. In the village of Shirazli, they threw stones at our shrines and places of worship. They attacked our houses. Azerbaijanis played significant role im the economy of Armenia, because they were diligent and hardworking. They took our livestock away from our properties. They forced us out of our ancestral lands.”
