Aghkend was a village in the Zangezur uezd of the former Yelizavetpol (Ganja) governorate, later in the former Gafan district, and currently in the Syunik province. It was marked on the five-verst map of the Caucasus. In the early 20th century the village was abolished.
The toponym was coined by combining the word “agh” meaning “small” in Old Turkic and the geographical nomen “kend” meaning “a village” in Azerbaijani.
