Abdulabad

Abdulabad was a village in the territory of the Echmiadzin uezd of the former Iravan governorate, later in the former Gurdugulu (Hoktemberyan) district, and present-day Armavir province. It was located on the left bank of the Araz River. It was marked as “Abdulabad” on the five- verst map of the Caucasus. The village was abolished in the early 20th century.

The toponym was coined by combining the personal name “Abdul” and the word “abad” meaning “a settlement, a residential place”.
