Abbas Deresi

Abbas Deresi was a village in the territory of the Zangezur uezd of the former Yelizavetpol (Ganja) governorate, later in the former Gorus district, and present-day Syunik province. It was located 16 km to the northeast of the town of Gorus. The village was devastated in the early 20th century. At present, the village lies in ruins.

The toponym was coined by combining the personal name “Abbas” and the word “dere” meaning “a valley”.
