Ganzak was a village in the territory of the Sharur-Daralayaz uezd of the former Iravan governorate, later in the former Keshishkend (Yeghegnadzor) district, and present-day Vayots Dzor province. It was located near the village of Amaghu. The name of the village was noted in “The Iravan Province Comprehensive Data Book”. The name of the village is noted like “Gandzak” in Armenian sources. It existed till the second half of the 18th century and later was ruined.
The toponym was coined on the basis of the name of the Turkic tribe “Genjak”.
