Gilakarli was a village in the territory of the Zangezur uezd of the former Yelizavetpol (Ganja) governorate, later in the former Gorus district, and currently in the Syunik province. The village was inhabited by 38 Azerbaijanis in the early 20th century. Later, the village was ruined.
The toponym was coined on the basis of a multi-generational family name.
