Teze Abdallar was a village in the territory of the Iravan uezd of the former Iravan governorate, later in the former Ellar (Kotayk, Abovyan) district, and present-day Kotayk province. The village was noted as “Tezkharab” in “The Iravan Province Review Book”. The village was initially inhabited by Azerbaijanis who gradually left it after Armenians had been settled in the region. The village was abolished in 1929.
The toponym was coined by adding the plural-forming suffix “-lar” to the Old Turkic ethnonym “Abdal”. “Teze” at the beginning of the toponym is a distinctive feature.
