Hasansu was a village in the territory of the Novo-Bayazid uezd of the former Iravan governorate, later in the former Basarkechar (Vardenis) district, and present-day Gegharkunik province. It was located near the village of Zod. The village was inhabited by 48 Azerbaijanis in 1926. İn 1928- 1930 the Azerbaijanis were ousted from the village which was abolished.
The toponym was coined by combining the personal name “Hasan” and the word “su” meaning “a river” in Turkic.
