Yukhari Korpulu is a village in the Borchali uezd of the former Tiflis governorate, in the former Barana (Noyemberyan) district, and currently in the Tavush province. The provincial centre is located 60 km to the northwest of the town of  Karvansara (Ijevan), in the valley of Guruchay and at a height of 600 m above sea level.

The village was inhabited by 43 Azerbaijanis in 1831, 361 in 1886, 402 in 1897,440 in 1908, 427 in 1914 and 792 Azerbaijanis in 1916. The inhabitants of the village were massacred by Armenian armed units and expelled in 1918. After the establishment of Soviet power in the territory of present-day Armenia, the Azerbaijanis were able to return to the village. The village was inhabited by 523 Azerbaijanis in 1922, 530 in 1926, 630 in 1931, and 2,000 Azerbaijanis in 1987. In 1988 the Azerbaijanis were again expelled from their native village by the Armenian state. At present, the village is inhabited by Armenians.

The village was built next to the historical monument of the 12th century Sinig Korpu (Girmizi Korpu) and therefore, was named “Korpulu.” “Yukhari” denotes a distinctive feature.

By decision of the Parliament of Armenia dated 4 July 2006, the village was renamed “Zorakap”. According to the law “On the administrative-territorial division of the Republic of Armenia” dated 7 November 1995, it was integrated into the administrative area of the Tavush province.
