Gazbel is a mountain in the Zangezur uezd of the former Yelizavetpol (Ganja) governorate, later in the former Gafan district, and currently in the Syunik province.

The toponym was coined from the word “gez” used in the sense of “a low part of the saddle, a saddle”, “a low part of a ridge between two higher points or peaks” in Azerbaijani and the word “bel” used in the sense of “a low passage”.
