Zangi is a river in the former Iravan governorate, in present Armenia. The river rises at Goycha (Sevan) and flows through the Akhta (Hrazdan) and Yelenovka (Sevan) districts, and the Zangibasar (Masis) district of the city of Iravan into the Araz River. The river was noted in “The Iravan Province Review Book”.
The name of the river was coined on the basis of the name of the Zangi tribe of the Gypchags. Later, the river was renamed “Hrazdan”.
