Salang is a river in the Zangazur uezd of the former Yelizavetpol (Ganja) governorate, later in the former Mehri (Meghri) district, and currently in the Syunik province. It flows through the village of Nuvadi (Nrnadzor).

The hydronym was coined on the basis of the word “salang” (salank)” meaning “noise” in Turkic.
