Garagol is a lake in the Zangazur uezd of the former Yelizavetpol (Ganja) governorate, later in the former Gorus district, and currently in the Syunik province. It was marked on five-verst map of the Caucasus.

The hydronym was coined by combining the words “gara” meaning in Azerbaijani “unqualitative, stale, unusable or undrinkable” and “gol”.
