Goycha is a river in the Novo-Bayazid uezd of the former Iravan governorate, later in the former Kavar (Yeni Bayazid, Kamo) district and currently in the Gegharkunik province.

The hydronym is formed from the combination of the word “goy”, which is used in the sense of blue color (it indicates the purity of water, its blue color) and the word “cha”, which has become a shortened form (a suffix) of the word “river” (chay).
