Gojaravan

Gojaravan was a winter pasture located in the territory of the Borchali uezd of the Tiflis governorate, later in the former Barana (Noyemberyan) district, and present-day Tavush province. It was located near the village of Lambali (Bagratashen). It was dissolved in the 1930s after being merged with the Lambali village.

The toponym was coined by combining the tribal name “Gojar” which is a phonetic variation of the ethnonym “Gajar” attributed to the Gizilbash Turkic tribe and the word “van” used in the sense of “a rural settlement”.
