Garasu

Garasu was a winter pasture located in the territory of the Borchali uezd of the Tiflis governorate, later in the former Barana (Noyemberyan) district, and present-day Tavush province. It is located at the foot of Yel Mountain , the near Lambali (Bagratashen) village. In 1930 it was a part of the Allahverdi (Tumanyan) district.

The pasture was inhabited by 14 Azerbaijanis in 1926. It was dissolved in the 1930s.

The toponym consists of the word “gara” used in the sense of “heavy, poor quality, unfit for drinking” and the hydronym “su” (water).
