Kharava was a summer pasture located in the territory of the Alexandropol uezd of the former Iravan governorate, later in the former Hamamli (Spitak) district, and present-day Lori province. It is located in the territory of the village of Gursali (Arjahovit).

The toponym was formed from the word “kharava” , which means “ruins” in the western dialect of the Azerbaijani language.
