Eyrije was a summer pasture located in the territory of the Sharur-Daralayaz uezd of the former Iravan governorate, later in the former Keshihkend (Yeghegnadzor) district, in the territory of the Vayots Dzor province. It is located on the border between the Daralayaz and Goycha districts.

The toponym was coined on the basis of the word “eyrije” used in the sense of “slightly crooked” in Azerbaijani.
