“I was born in Shirazli village of Vedi district in 1946. I worked as a driver in Iravan. On May 10, 1988, the village of Shirazli was raided. We left and ran to the village of Shidli on the bank of the Aras river. We lived in Shidli village for 2 months. We took turns bringing food from Nakhchivan. One day when I, my son and brother-in-law Ramiz were heading to Nakhchivan for food we were attacked by Armenians. They started a fire in the village. We arrived at the border of Nakhchivan and reported to the division commander Nadir. And he solved the issue and set peace with the border guards. They attacked our cars. Every night, Armenians held a secret meeting in their homes and discussed how to expel us from our ancestral homeland.”
