Gisirkharaba was a village in the Sharur-Daralayaz uezd of the former Iravan governorate, later in the former Pashali (Azizbeyov, Vayk) district, and present-day Vayots Dzor province. It was located 15-17 km to the east of the village of Pashali and near the village of Terp.
The village was solely inhabited by Azerbaijanis – 86 in 1886, 136 in 1897, 152 in 1904, 167 in 1914 and 187 Azerbaijanis in 1916. The Azerbaijanis were attacked, massacred or ousted from the village by Armenian armed units in 1918. Only after the establishment of Soviet power in present-day Armenia, the Azerbaijanis managed to return to their village. The village was inhabited by four Azerbaijanis in 1922 and 18 Azerbaijanis in 1926. The Azerbaijanis were forced to flee the village in 1928–1929 and the village was abolished in 1930.
The toponym was coined by combining the words “gisir” meaning “without vegetation, bare lands” in Azerbaijani and “kharaba” meaning “destroyed, ruined”.
